We’ve painted quite a few of these around the state, as UT wants to have one in every county in Tennessee. Keep your eyes open - they’re everywhere, and on all kinds of structures! You never know where you’re gonna see one!

Nice-sized logo on the side of a VERY large building! Of course, we always love painting on corrugated aluminum - much better than a simple flat surface. (This is me being very sarcastic!)

I love painting bridges! We actuallly started talking about working with the Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association over two years ago. They found out the hard way that CSX likes to take their sweet time giving approval to paint on their nasty retaining walls. We were interviewed and selected to paint these ugly surfaces, with colors and designs created by local Sylvan Park artist @Audry Deal-McEver. Special shout-out to Jenny Komoll, who spearheaded the entire endeavor. It really turned out well! Looking forward to the next hair-raising project, dodging trains, bugs, spiders, and speeding errant Nashville drivers! Too much fun! #muralsandmorellc #nashvillemurals #bridgemurals #exteriormurals #sylvanpark #flowermurals

This one took a little longer than I originally planned. Seems that it takes FOREVER to hand-paint a library’s worth of books! We travelled back and forth daily to Manchester, TN., to paint murals on the exterior of the Coffee County Library. An absolutely fun project! Been in the works for a while, just trying to get the designs approved, and then waiting for other projects to be completed so that we could dedicate our time to all of these walls! Shout out to the crew: Crystal Yates, Andrew Douglas and Emily Adams. They did an absolutely fabulous job under some hot, wet and windy conditions! (I swear that Manchester has a micro-climate. It could be fabulous here in Franklin, and pouring at the library. You just never knew how the weather would be!) Everybody so far has their own favorite wall, so I’d love to hear yours. Enjoy! #muralsandmorellc #exteriormurals #librarymurals #trompeloeil #trompeloeilmurals #coffeecountytn

Wow. This one was non-stop. Seven hour drive. Two weeks. Only got rained out a couple of times. A little wall in Wilkesboro, NC. Ok, 40’h x 90’w. A company in Ohio did the design, wanted to know if we could paint it for them. Sure! No problem! Yeah, but we want it now. So…rescheduled a few things, and off to the races! (Sorry. That was too easy.) Thanks to Liz Michalski, Crystal Yates, newbie Allie Johnson, and not-so-newbie Brad Lewis! This project is probably the second largest we’ve ever done, relative to actual square footage. We had to paint custom graphics and signage on the exterior of a massive condo complex in the Wedgewood/Houston area of Nashville. Not only was it seven stories high, but it was on a heavily corrugated metal surface! Lots of “chevrons”, angles, numbers and letters, specified to be painted in all of the weirdest places. We used 85’ and 125’h articulated lifts, 45’ scissor lifts, and multiple widths of swing stages. Some of the letters were 30’h! We painted three coats on all of the white graphics on the green surfaces. The only dark paint used was for the name of the complex, which is “The Finery”. Lots of really hot days, dead in the sun, tons of wind, rain, etc., but we finished after about 3 weeks. Not too shabby!

Here’s one we did out in College Grove. The client has two really old barns. They wanted murals painted on them but wanted to keep the character of the aged barns. So, we painted them to look like “Ghost murals”, faded, worn and weathered, giving the impression that the artwork had been there since the barns were new!

Exterior Murals FAQs

  • How long do exterior murals last?

A properly painted and sealed exterior mural can last 15–25 years before requiring significant touch-ups. We use UV-resistant acrylic paints and protective clear-coat sealers specifically designed for outdoor environments. Several Murals & More exterior murals on commercial buildings are more than a decade old and still remain vibrant.

  • Can you paint a mural on a multi-story building?

Absolutely. Not only are we OSHA certified, but we love using lifts and swing-stages. We’ve painted murals on multi-story exterior brick and stucco buildings across the country, including the Hotel Indigo Printer’s Alley project in Nashville. (That one took me up 14 stories!) Multi-story projects require specialized aerial equipment, careful scheduling around utilities and weather conditions, and extensive surface preparation — all of which we manage as part of the project.

Absolutely too much fun with this one! e|spaces is opening a new office on Music Row, and of course wanted something representing the history of the Row. So we gave them an historic recording studio, reminiscent of the early days. Prominently featured are Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton in the recording studio. The producers are Chet Atkins, Bob Ferguson, and Owen Bradley. There are numerous signed photos throughout of other artists, as well as a slew of vintage instruments. Even the recording equipment is accurate! The crew did an AMAZING job with this one. Painted on canvas in the studio, and installed onsite. Keep your eyes out - more to come!

Canvas Murals FAQs

  • What are canvas murals, and how are they different from regular murals?

Canvas murals are hand-painted on heavyweight muslin in our Franklin, Tennessee studio and then installed on-site similarly to wallpaper. The finished appearance looks identical to a mural painted directly onto the wall, but the canvas mural can later be removed and reused if needed. This makes canvas murals ideal for renters, businesses that may relocate, or anyone who wants the flexibility of a movable mural.

  • How is a canvas mural installed?

We bring the completed canvas mural to your location and adhere it to the wall using professional paste-and-paper installation techniques. Installation is faster, cleaner, and less disruptive than on-site painting, which is why canvas murals are especially popular for restaurants, retail spaces, and offices that cannot shut down for an extended painting project.

We create custom murals for residential bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms, nurseries, and entryways, as well as restaurant dining areas, medical and pediatric facilities, hotel lobbies, church sanctuaries and baptistries, school hallways, office reception areas, and recreational facility interiors. Every mural is custom-designed specifically for the project.

Yes. A large portion of our residential and commercial work comes through interior designers, architects, builders, developers and branding or advertising firms. We’re comfortable working from designer-supplied concepts or developing completely custom artwork from scratch.

Signage & Graphics FAQs

  • Can you replicate our company logo as a hand-painted wall graphic?

Past projects include signage and graphics for Hotel Indigo Printer’s Alley, The Listening Room, Gibson Guitars, Electronic Express, Bud’s Liquors, Yazoo Brewery, University of Tennessee, Cannery Row, Ole Red, White Bison and numerous schools and cities, among others.

Decorative Finishes & Venetian Plaster FAQs

  • What is Italian Venetian plaster?

Venetian plaster is a fine, hand-applied wall finish made from 100% natural limestone and pigments that is polished to create a marble-like sheen. Originating in Renaissance Italy, it remains one of the world’s most prestigious decorative wall finishes. Michael Cooper has applied Venetian plaster, travertino, Marmorino, limestone washes and other Old World finishes for many high-end residential and commercial clients.

  • What other decorative finishes do you offer?

In addition to Venetian plaster, we offer faux marble, faux wood, textured stuccos, natural stone effects, custom stenciling, aging and patina techniques, gold leaf applications, reactive metallics, custom glazes, and tile murals. Every finish is hand-applied and customized to the project.

Recreational Facility Murals FAQs

  • Why are murals popular in recreational facilities like YMCAs?

Murals create energy, identity, and a stronger sense of place within otherwise utilitarian spaces such as natatoriums, gyms, child-watch areas, hallways, and entryways. Murals & More has painted murals for YMCA locations in Roanoke, Murfreesboro, Lynchburg, Franklin, Bellevue, and Kingsport, along with other recreational and wellness centers.

  • Can you paint murals in indoor pool areas?

Yes. Indoor pool environments are especially challenging because of humidity, chlorine exposure, and constant moisture. We use specialty paints and sealers designed specifically for these conditions. Several of our YMCA natatorium murals have remained in excellent condition for years without degradation.
