Welcome to Franklin!

Painted on the side of Urgent Team, an urgent care facility on Hillsboro Road in Franklin, this mural is the first large-scale work of Public Art approved by the new Williamson County Public Art Commission. This one holds a special place in my heart, not only because it is the perfect greeting as you enter downtown Franklin, but also because it is where we contracted Covid! Yes, my wife and I were out a month suffering from this virus - truly memorable! But back to the artwork. 

We went through a number of designs before this one was finally approved by the Arts Commission as well as the Aldermen and Mayor. Truly a process. Of course, Urgent Team had to approve it as well, since they commissioned it! The mural highlights several of the numerous attractions that make this town such a destination. A bright and colorful background sets off the 10’h letters, visible for anyone coming from the north into Franklin. An absolute perfect location for perfect selfies! Looking forward to painting more in downtown Franklin!
